A bit about how I do therapy-
As a Licensed Professional Counselor/ Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP), I enjoy creating safe space to work one-on-one with people. I hold a deep belief that we all have a nourishing, wise, capable self within us. Little t and Big T trauma, life stressors, and chronic reactivity, however, can get in the way of our ability to access the nourishing, wise, capable self. Difficulty accessing the self makes it hard to have the relationships we want and life course we yearn for.
You may not even know or understand why some of your reactivity is so strong. You just recognize on some level that you’re “too reactive” or that your reactions feel bigger or smaller than the situation at hand. Therapy can greatly improve your ability to connect with the nourishing, wise, capable self by assisting in desensitizing and reprocessing the parts of life and parts of yourself that are getting in the way.
Most of us have experienced some form of trauma- whether little “t” or Big “T”. Trauma typically doesn’t process the way other life experiences do, so it gets “stuck” in our nervous system and minds. EMDR in particular can greatly assist in helping the mind and body get unstuck allowing you to move forward in life with more freedom and less reactivity.

Let’s do the work together & create healthy change.
A bit about me as a person-
I’m a mother of two sons (19 & 16 years old) and Labrador Janie, partner to finance guy Andy.
Knoxville is my hometown.
I got my Master’s in Counseling in my early 20s, but engaged the world of ministry for twenty years while I raised my children. I was an Episcopal priest for 13 years serving as a palliative care chaplain and parish priest. In 2024 I pivoted out of ministry and into private practice counseling.
I feel tremendously grateful to be where I am now- an author & trauma therapist specializing in EMDR. I’ll always be grateful to my own EMDR therapist as well as my experience working for and being supervised by Bonnie Barclay, owner and clinical director of Creekside Counseling + Wellness.
As a true introvert, I love reading, writing, swimming, knitting, hanging with Andy, laughing with my kids, and gathering with close friends.
The beach is my happy place.
Exercise is essential to my nervous system.
I love food and someone else cooking.
